It is with deep sadness that we must announce the cancellation of this year’s Bluebird Music Festival. The University of Colorado has decided that any event taking place on campus with over 150 attendees will be suspended effective immediately through the end of the school year. We must respect their decision and hope these measures protect our attendees from around the country who attend our special event.
However, we cannot lie. This is a tremendous blow to the Future Arts Foundation. The event brings in 70% of our annual revenue. So cancelling this, and doing the right thing by refunding tickets, will cost schools not to receive instruments, children of teachers and first responders not to receive summer art classes, and our already underpaid, hard working staff not to receive a paycheck.
Beginning Monday, March 16, we’ll be refunding all tickets and fees purchased through the Macky Auditorium site, except the $4 per order FAF fee. This fee just covers very basic foundation fees. Please allow 30 days for this process to take place; you will receive a confirmation email and see this refund appear in your account by April 16, 2020. If you have any questions about the status of your refund, you may contact the Macky Auditorium box office after this date. If you’d like to help the Future Arts Foundation by donating back your ticket money, or any amount, you can do so at We’re a small nonprofit that tries to do a lot. This is a crushing blow, but with your support, we’ll be back.
We love you all, take care of each other, and we hope to see you next year. Thank you.
